grow your own capsicum
These capsicums are planted by my mum! It is just so amazing to see 3 capsicums hanging on the little plant. At first, it is green in colour and the size is slightly smaller than a fist, it turned yellow once ripe. Refused to pluck it coz it's just too pretty to look at. Finally, one fine day, i found it on the dining table and became one of the dish for dinner that night... ...

I think i would react the same way as you did too. I could do alot of what some would see as impractical stuff just for the sake of preserving the flowers or fruits (in this case). The mere sight of flowers and plants brings me so much joy and also intriques me in some instances (like when little leaves begins to sprouts...)
